Real Madrid star Eden Hazard has been offered to Chelsea by 'intermediaries', according to reports in Spain.

The 30-year-old has only been in the Spanish capital for two years following his £89million transfer from the Blues in the summer of 2019, but his time in Madrid has been marred by injury problems.

Hazard has been linked with a departure from Los Blancos throughout the summer to end his nightmare spell at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano.

Now, according to a report from AS, the prospect of Hazard making a sensational return to Chelsea has been proposed to the west Londoners.

However, Madrid - rather understandably - will be determined to recoup at least a large chunk of the £89m they spent on the Belgium international should they sell him this summer, which could make a deal complicated.

Chelsea supporters will be desperate to see the former fan favourite return to Stamford Bridge and they might be encouraged by some of Thomas Tuchel's quotes on him back in April, prior to the Blues' semi-final meeting with Real Madrid.

"He is a top quality player and a key player for many years at this club and this league, the hardest in the world," Tuchel said on Hazard.

"So consistent. I have the biggest respect for him. He is a big player, we have many people here who know him well.

"He was a key player for this club now he plays for Real Madrid."

Gary Neville, like Tuchel, is also a massive fan of Hazard and said it's like "poetry" watching the Real Madrid man at his best.

"For purity, and pure football, when you're five, six, seven years old, he is the best player to watch along with David Silva. It's like poetry," Neville said in April 2019 on Sky Sports.

"The way they carry themselves on and off the pitch, it's an absolute joy.

"For me, them two [Hazard and Silva], I can't separate them but it's a joy to watch them both."

Meanwhile, Chelsea are still doing all they can to try and sign Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

According to reports from last week, the Blues had a player-plus-cash offer for Haaland turned down by his employers.

Tuchel's side kick off their Premier League campaign against Crystal Palace on August 14 and the German coach will be desperate to get some transfer business completed before then.
