Chelsea and Tottenham have entered the battle for Liverpool target Luis Diaz.

The 24-year-old attacker is attracting attention from around Europe, given his fantastic displays for Porto. Diaz arrived at the Estadio do Dragao in 2019 and is now an established member of Sergio Conceicao’s squad.

Luis has played nine games for the Dragons this campaign and has scored five goals and assisted one more. At 24, Colombia international is at the right age to be a long-term solution and perform right off the bat. Primarily a left midfielder, he is capable of playing on either flank effectively.

This versatility will put the Colombian attacker in good stead should he move to a bigger team. Both Blues and Spurs have gone in separate directions in recent years, but it can be argued that both parties could do with reinforcements on the wings.

Chelsea invested in Hakim Ziyech and Christian Pulisic in recent windows, but neither of them has really established themselves as definite first XI material. Chelsea do have another option in Callum Hudson-Odoi, who, despite his potential, is yet to establish himself as a regular.

The German manager has built an impressive side but could with a dependable option down the flanks. The South American attacker certainly has the potential to be that man. Diaz has no lack of options. The likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Roma are all keen on the footballer and welcome the chance to sign Luis.
