Chelsea yet to agree deal for 6 ft 2 defender amid PSG interest

Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger reportedly found the Blues initial contract offer ‘disrespectful’, as his future at Stamford Bridge continues to be called into question.

The former AS Roma defender’s current deal in London is due to expire next June, and West London club have thus far been unable to come to an agreement with the centre-back over an extension.

As it stands, German centre-back would be free to hold talks with foreign teams at the start of 2022, and Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are thought to lead the list of interested clubs.

According to Sport1, the Blues initial contract offer was seen to be ‘disrespectful’ by the 28-year-old star, who signalled that he was not prepared to sign the deal on the table.

The report, though, reports that the 28-year-old is still open to penning an extension at Stamford Bridge, as he is enjoying his football under current manager Thomas Tuchel who has led the Blues to the UCL trophy last year.

Rudiger has been a vital player for the West London club since Tuchel’s arrival as head coach, while he has been a constant in the Premier League and Champions League this season.
