Thomas Tuchel has been provided with a boost as Antonio Rudiger is once again available for selection against Malmo, with Christian Pulisic the only member of his squad missing.

The German international has participated in training this week after missing Chelsea's win over Brentford. The 28-year-old suffered a back injury while part of the Die Mannschaft for their Wold Cup Qualifiers against Romania and North Macedonia.

Germany boss Hansi Flick deemed Rudiger missing training following the win over Romania was a 'precautionary measure', but the former Stuttgart star was unavailable to return in time for the Premier League clash with Brentford.

Tuchel provided a simple update. He said: "It's only Christian Pulisic who is missing tomorrow."

Pulisic has not featured in a Chelsea squad since the opening day of the season against Crystal Palace, after suffering an ankle injury in September's international break.

The American has been close to first team training but has struggled with pain issues when building up his training. Tuchel provided some insight to Pulisic's progress.

He said: "He got injured during a match with the USA. It was a tough foul and he hurt his ankle. There's nothing to worry in terms of us hiding details. I cannot give you all the details because simply I'm not a doctor.

"In the moment he has some setbacks from pain, not from major injury or from complications. Simply the pain in the ankle that disturbs him. Once players with quick movement like Christian, once they feel this pain, the recovery is not happening so you start all over again.

"You then hit a certain point and the pain comes back and you have to pause and start all over again. Right now we are very, very close. "He was already close to coming back to team training last week but he had a setback and reaction. Pain, but nothing serious but serious pain.

"He is very impatient, you can see him suffer in every meeting. He wants to be on the pitch to help us. Unfortunately the injury takes it's time."

However, that means Hakim Ziyech also returns to the fray for the European match. Tuchel reported last week that the Moroccan had suffered from headaches ahead of the match against the Bees over the weekend but he has recovered to take part in training this week.
