Chelsea's trip to Watford has been stopped with just over 10 minutes of the game being played after a "medical incident" in the crowd. With just over 10 minutes on the clock, and the score still goalless, referee David Coote made the decision to stop the match after a medical incident in the crowd.

Conor McNamara, Amazon Prime's commentator, confirmed there was an incident in the crowd and he cut to his colleague, who said the medical team had been giving CPR. Marcos Alonso was the man who got the attention of the medical staff just before the players headed down the tunnel.

The 'medical incident' took place in the Upper Graham Taylor stand at Vicarage Road. The game, before being stopped, saw Watford having the better of the opening exchanges, with Edouard Mendy forced into a smart save early on.

Thomas Tuchel made six changes to the side that drew with Manchester United at the weekend, but Joe Cole, when speaking before the game, thinks Chelsea can afford to make these personnel tweaks.

"It’s incredible. I’ve been lucky enough to go to the training ground and I’ve met Thomas Tuchel and he’s as impressive in real life as he is when we see him on the bench and the way he holds himself," Cole said on Amazon Prime.

"I spoke to all the people at the club, from the kit men, to the girls in the kitchen - they all feel part of it. It’s very difficult at Chelsea because there’s a big squad and there’s a big support staff. "What I would say about this squad is, whoever Tuchel plays, in any position, the level doesn’t go down.

"Even the great Chelsea sides of the last 20 years, my side included, when players are out, the level did drop, not everyone, but we had a spine of the team.

"This team, even without N’Golo Kante, who I think is the most important player, even when he’s out, Loftus-Cheek comes in, the level doesn’t drop, they’re so consistent. They might not be the best team but they are the most consistent side.”
