N’Golo Kante looks set to stay at Chelsea after he ignored Paris Saint-Germain’s offer to join them this summer, according to reports in France.

The France international is in his sixth season with Chelsea and has helped the club win the Premier League, the FA Cup , the Champions League , the Europa League and the Club World Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.

The 31-year-old will have just one year left on his contract this summer and Chelsea are currently unable to offer a new deal due to the restrictions imposed on the club’s owner Roman Abramovich.

According to Le Parisien, PSG approached Kante in the closing stages of the January transfer window with a proposal which would see him make the move to Ligue 1 at the end of the season.

But the report claims that Kante did not respond to PSG’s offer and the midfielder is ‘happy’ at Chelsea. Kante has made 31 appearances in all competitions this season but has needed to be carefully managed by Thomas Tuchel due to his injuries.

Kante has spent the international break with France’s national side, although he was forced to leave the camp last week in order to travel to Mali for personal reasons. The midfielder returned to the squad and played 65 minutes in France’s 5-0 victory over South Africa on Tuesday evening.

Kante is set to remain a key part of France’s squad for their World Cup campaign in Qatar later this year. The 31-year-old was a pivotal part of the team’s success at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
