All of Chelsea’s potential next owners have reportedly made a decision to try and keep Blues director Marina Granovskaia at Stamford Bridge should they complete a takeover. Her future has been up in the air since Roman Abramovich announced his decision to sell the west London club.

Having been with the Blues since 2010, she has played a pivotal role in the club’s operations in the transfer market, whilst contract negotiations have also been one of the main assets of her remit since taking control. Whilst there is considerable doubt over her position at Stamford Bridge, it appears that the club’s potential new owners are attempting to convince her to stay.

According to The Athletic , each of the four parties who are eyeing a deal for the west London club have expressed a ‘wish’ to keep her at the club - a move that would be a major boost for Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window. It is suggested that whichever group runs out as victors in the race to acquire the club would make Granovskaia an offer to stay.

That does not necessarily mean her future is set though. As per the reports, she has not given her commitment to any of the interested parties and will instead be waiting for the takeover process to be completed before coming to any definitive decision.

Meanwhile, Roman Abramovich ’s current dealings could well give Granovskaia a tricky call to make. Having been a close colleague of the Russian oligarch for some time, it might be said that she could be tempted to follow him.

Amid rumours that he was aiming to complete a takeover of Turkish outfit Goztepe, there is now a suggestion that he could potentially be a contender to buy Spanish outfit Valencia from current owner Peter Lim. That is according to Miguel Zorio, who himself is aiming to complete a takeover for the La Liga club. In a letter shared by Plaza Deportiva , he said:

"Peter Lim has tried to sell the club in London for €250million and has not succeeded. Lately, he has leaked to international media that he has two purchase offers, mine and that of the Russian oligarch of Chelsea.”

Indeed, it is suggested by CBS that sources at the Spanish club are 'bemused' by the link between themselves and Abramovich. However, should the Russian attempt to buy a club in the future - whether that be Valencia or not - then it would be interesting to see whether Granovskaia would follow him or indeed remain at Stamford Bridge following the new owners’ reported offer.
