Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has claimed that he would be willing to stay with the Premier League champions ‘forever’ in what would...
The Spaniard arrived at the
Etihad Stadium in the summer of 2016 and has
masterminded a hugely successful period since
then.
The club have claimed three Premier League titles, an FA Cup, four League Cups, as well as having reached the Champions League final under Guardiola ’s stewardship, with the rest of their domestic rivals - barring Liverpool - left behind.

His current deal is only set to run until the
summer of 2023 and has been linked with taking
over the Brazilian national team.
However, when asked about those rumours, Guardiola confirmed his commitment to Manchester City, claiming that he would be willing to stay for however long the club want him for. Speaking ahead of this weekend’s titanic title clash with Liverpool, he said:
“Not today, come on. I'm under contract here, I'm so happy. I'm willing to stay forever here. I'd extend the contract ten years but now is not the moment. I don't know where it's come from.”
The news will likely strike fear into Arsenal , Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur as they all look to halt Manchester City’s domestic dominance.

When compared, it is the Blues who have been
the more successful of the trio having lifted the
title during the Spaniard’s debut season in
England, whilst they also edged past Manchester
City in the Champions League final last term.
Meanwhile, Spurs and Arsenal themselves are attempting to finally return to Europe’s top table this season - albeit the former having put together an impressive head-to-head record against Guardiola’s City side.
The north Londoners have already done the double over the reigning champions this season with a 1-0 victory at the start of the season followed by a memorable 3-2 success at the Etihad Stadium.

Antonio Conte though is forthright in his opinion
of Guardiola having hailed him as the best
manager in world football.
Speaking in February, the Italian said:
"I think that we are talking about the best coach in the world because he shows it in many teams, many different situations, that it is good to build something important and if the club supports him because when you stay in Barcelona and Bayern Munich and then Manchester City, these clubs wanted to invest in him and he repaid this trust.
"I repeat when you see a team of Pep Guardiola you can see an idea of football and you understand that there is a lot of work into the team and this work is his idea and for this reason it's for me in this moment is the best coach in the world.”
