Chelsea centre-back Thiago Silva has sent a defiant message to fans after they were beaten 1-0 by Everton in the Premier League on Sunday. Richarlison scored the only goal of the game in what was another disappointing display from the Blues but their Brazilian defender is determined to bounce back.

"We are disappointed with tonight’s result, but unfortunately, football is like that!!" he wrote on Twitter after the game. "On Saturday we will have a new opportunity for a better result. And without a doubt, thanks to you, our supporters, we will be able to win!!!"

Romelu Lukaku transfer hits problem

Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has not had the best of times since arriving at Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window, scoring just five goals in the Premier League this season. He has been linked with numerous moves away and it remains to be seen what the club's plans are for the player.

Barcelona are one of the clubs to be linked with a move for the 28-year-old, but they have encountered a problem. Because of the sanctions placed on Roman Abramovich by the UK government and the club having to operate under a special licence, Chelsea are unable to negotiate any transfers, incoming or outgoing, leaving Barca unable to progress talks beyond Lukaku's agent.

Why Antonio Rudiger chose Real Madrid

After plenty of speculation regarding his future, Chelsea centre-back Antonio Rudiger finally looks set to join Real Madrid during the summer transfer window. Negotiations over a new contract at Stamford Bridge were put on hold and Madrid have seemingly pounced to land the Germany international.

But why Madrid? Well, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has offered some insight, revealing that manager Carlo Ancelotti played a huge role in bringing Rudiger to the Bernabeu.
