TODD BOEHLY has been spotted outside Stamford Bridge for the first time since signing an agreement to take over Chelsea. The 46-year-old American is part of a consortium buying the club in a deal reportedly worth around £4.25billion .

The photo was posted on Twitter late on Friday night with the caption:

"Can confirm that Todd Boehly is at the Bridge....can also confirm that he is an absolute gent!"

Former chancellor and Blues fan George Osborne i also part of the group, having worked with the consortium on the takeover. The Daily Mail report Boehly is due to attend Saturday's game against Wolves.

Boehly, who part-owns the LA Dodgers, is poised t run the London side despite a last-gasp £4bn offer from Sir Jim Ratcliffe .

He will now be put forward for Government and Premier League approval. It is expected the league will approve the takeover, but only after the completion of an owners’ and directors’ test.

Just over three weeks remain on the club’s current operating licence, which expires on May 31. The Blues confirmed the consortium's sum of £2.5bn for club shares will be deposited into a frozen UK bank account.
