The 33-year-old forward was again in stunning form for Bayern Munich during the 2021-22 season, founding back of the net 50 times in 46 games in all competitions, in addition to registering seven assists in the process.

Poland international forward only has one year left on his current deal at Allianz Arena, however, he made it clear that he is keen on to leave German giants.

Barcelona are still seen as the frountrunners for the Poland international, while Chelsea see him as a perfect replacement for Romelu Lukaku who is open to leave Stamford Bridge.

However, according to the Daily Star, the Red Devils are also in the mix for the forward, having seemingly missed out on a contract for Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.

The 20-times English champions are believed to have identified Nunez as a leading target to boost their attack, however, he is likely to be on his way to Liverpool.

La Liga giants are determined to secure services of Robert Lewandowski in the current transfer market, however, the Catalan club’s financial issues could ultimately price them out of a deal, with La Liga president Javier Tebas recently claiming that Barcelona cannot afford to bring the attacker to Camp Nou.

“Barca, today, cannot sign him. Barcelona know what they have to do. He (Barcelona president Joan Laporta) knows perfectly our rules of economic control and his financial situation,” Tebas is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo.

“The rules are to avoid major economic problems in the entities. I do not know if he will sell [Frenkie] De Jong, Pedri or Pepito Perez. He knows what he has to do, sell assets and earn more.”
