Sevilla general director Jose Maria Cruz de Andres has confirmed Chelsea target Jules Kounde wants to leave the club to play in a “more competitive team”.

Kounde is a player that has been in the media alot over the past few weeks as he is seen as the perfect replacement for Antonio Rudiger at Chelsea after the German left the club for Real Madrid.

He is quick – strong – good with the ball and very good in the air despite the fact he is not the biggest of central defenders – and it has been constantly claimed that he is desperate to sign for Chelsea as quick as he can It has already been claimed that Personal terms have been agreed with the Frenchman and Chelsea are just trying to negotiate a fee that they believe will be beneficial to both teams – around the £55 million mark.

Now – amid all the rumours De Andres has come out and officially revealed that Kounde wants to leave Sevilla in order to join a team that is more competitive than Sevilla – he told Sport Witness:

“Again, the player, I am sure, respects Sevilla FC. He is happy with us. In the case of Kounde, it is not a matter of money.

“It’s a matter of him wanting to play in a more competitive team than Sevilla FC. “I am sure he is a player that is attractive for teams like Chelsea, FC Barcelona, Bayern Munich and these types of teams. “He wants to play in a more competitive team.”

Chelsea are a more competitive team than Seville right now and he would be joining one of the biggest clubs on the planet should he complete that move to Stamford Bridge He really is a player that Chelsea are keen on and we would be shocked to not see him make that move to London – especially with all the rumours flying around
