New Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has only been in charge at the club for just over three weeks and already he is making excellent moves.

Romelu Lukaku was nothing but toxic in the Chelsea squad last season, and Boehly’s very first big move in terms of squad movement will be to oust the striker from the club.

His loan move to Inter Milan is now very close to be completed officially, with a host of top sources reporting it last night.

This bodes very well for Boehly and the new Blues owners, fully backing Thomas Tuchel and being behind his wishes.

Making sure that an unhappy player is removed from the squad is absolutely essential, and it also sends a stark warning to any other players who might be unhappy.

If you don’t want to be here, then off you go. I’m very pleased that Boehly is adapting this way of operating.

Todd Boehly, Chelsea’s new co-owner, gave the move the green light following talks with Tuchel and Lukaku.

Boehly wants to back Tuchel on football matters and does not see any point of keeping an unhappy player at the club. By @JacobSteinberg
